On the first day of Christmas Sweaters,
The Eighties gave to me--
A white, sequined icicle frieze.
IT'S FINALLY HERE.
THE TWELVE DAYS OF CHRISTMAS SWEATERS.
I adore Christmas sweaters. They're as fun to wear as they are unflattering, and I feel so proud that the decade I was born also saw the beginnings of this awful, truly inexplicable trend.
They're so awful, it's beautiful. And almost as soon as I started blogging I thought, what better way to showcase my collection of twelve (count 'em, 12) Christmas sweaters, than to do a variation on the classic Christmas song, "The Twelve Days of Christmas."
So here goes: my first, most toned-down sweater-- an eighties (with an almost forties-vibe at the shoulders) number in honor of all that is icy and snowy, a perfect match for today's blustery, snowy weather in New York.

As the days count down to Christmas, they'll be getting weirder, so be sure and come back daily!
Ohhh... Puffy sleeves!
ReplyDeleteYeah, it's an unexpected, fun detail! Also, I won't lie, I wear this outside the Christmas season.
